His love for his son is what keeps him going through this seemingly hopeless journey; and hope as it is very hard to come by in this novel. The scavengers, marauders and cannibals they meet along the way only paint what would come of civilization once it stops.
As said by one of the characters in the novel “There is no later, this is later”. Cormac McCarthy has delivered once again, and this is a must read even if you are not into post-apocalyptic novels.
